If you use Twitter as an author, I am sure you already understand its value.
Twitter is so much more than meets the eye. Think of it as a broadcasting tool. A place you can build an audience and communicate with them.
Twitter is very simple. As an author, there are three easy ways to take advantage of its power and see real benefit.
As a writer or author, here are 3 simple ways to use Twitter:
#1 – Build an audience
If you have an audience – they will find you. Stop and think about Social Media for a minute. It is basically a place where your audience, or potential audience, is spending their time. Like attracts like in real life and the same happens on Social Media. Get active and you will see this work for you as well.
#2 – Drive traffic & build your email list
Twitter is an amazing tool to drive traffic. If you have a blog or website with your writing on it – share it with your audience daily. Make sure to have a form present for them to opt-in to receive emails from you as this will serve as a great tool to connect with your audience.
#3 – Get real time feedback
You can share segments of your book and get people interested. You can ask for feedback on your writing and really increase the engagement. Twitter can be a great “real time” feedback channel. You will be amazed at how fast people will respond with good feedback.
Need inspiration for something to write? Ask your following.
Need feedback on a recent bit you have written? Ask your following for it.
Twitter is an amazing tool that takes some getting used to. But once you are on it regularly and have built an audience, I think you will find the massive value that myself and millions of other users are tapping into daily.
