Session 1 (January 28, 2025): STATISTICS + RESEARCH TO UNDERSTAND THE AUDIENCE
(2-hour session w Q+A)
- Which networks are a good fit? What production companies have a good relationship with those networks + are pros within your genre?
- Learn how to conduct basic research to begin to build out a targeted grid of networks + production companies.
- Determine what audience your project is for.
- In this session, you will learn the ins + outs of basic research to begin to hone in on which specific demographic(s) you will be targeting with your pitch.
- By the end of this session, each attendee will have an understanding of how to figure out who you want to pitch your project to and why.
- This session ends with a robust Q+A.
Session 2 (February 4, 2025): PERFECTING YOUR LOGLINE
(2-hour session w Q+A)
- Loglines are tough but worth learning how to put together. When you’re networking, you want to be able to quickly summarize your concept and leave them hungry for more. That’s where perfecting your logline, aka elevator pitch, comes in.
- In this session, you will learn how to craft your logline and how to customize yours.
- By the end of this session, you will have a good handle on yours.
- This session ends with logline feedback and a Q+A.
Session 3 (February 11, 2025): DECK/ BIBLE, SIZZLE, WILD CARDS
(2-hour session w Q+A)
- Knowing what to include in your pitch deck (unscripted) or bible (scripted) is crucial to being taken seriously by Hollywood executives.
- Understanding what to include in your sizzle is equally important. Learn how long it should be + what should be included.
- Customizing your pitch deck or bible and your sizzle may include a “wild card” addition to really sell the concept. Learn what might be a “wild card” for your project.
- In this session, you will leave with a solid understanding of what you should include in your pitch materials and their order of importance. You will be pointed in the right direction specific to your project.
- This powerful session ends with a final Q+A as well as a special invitation to take the advanced workshop.
You’ll also benefit from a full Q&A “open mic” session at the end of each session where you’ll have an opportunity to ask your questions.
