DAY 1 — WEDNESDAY, JULY 28

Arrive in Cairo

Welcome to Egypt! Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, you’ll be met by a Central Holidays representative and assisted with entry formalities before being escorted to your hotel.

Settle into your Nile-view room and enjoy the evening at your leisure.

DAY 2 — THURSDAY, JULY 29

The Pyramids, Great Sphinx, and Grand Egyptian Museum

Begin your exploration with some of Egypt’s most legendary treasures.

Visit the Pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx before continuing to the Grand Egyptian Museum, home to thousands of artifacts spanning Egypt’s dynasties, including the golden treasures of King Tutankhamun.

DAY 3 — FRIDAY, JULY 30

Islamic Cairo, Flight to Aswan, and Embarkation

Explore the Citadel of Saladin and the Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali before flying to Aswan.

There, you’ll board the deluxe M/S Mojito—or a similar vessel—and begin your seven-night voyage along the Nile.

DAY 4 — SATURDAY, JULY 31

Aswan, Kom Ombo, and Edfu

Discover Aswan’s High Dam and travel by motorboat to the island sanctuary of Philae Temple.

Enjoy a peaceful felucca ride around Kitchener Island before sailing to Kom Ombo to explore its unusual twin temple dedicated to Sobek and Horus.

DAY 5 — SUNDAY, AUGUST 1

Edfu, Esna, and Luxor

Visit the Temple of Horus at Edfu, one of Egypt’s best-preserved ancient temples.

Return to the ship and sail through the Esna Lock toward Luxor, where you’ll explore Luxor Temple in the afternoon.

DAY 6 — MONDAY, AUGUST 2

Total Solar Eclipse Viewing

Experience the unforgettable centerpiece of the journey: the Total Solar Eclipse of 2027.

Witness the sky darken over the Nile Valley during a specially arranged viewing experience featuring expert commentary and safe observation arrangements.

If time permits, the day may also include a visit to Karnak Temple, the world’s largest religious complex.

DAY 7 — TUESDAY, AUGUST 3

Luxor and the West Bank

Cross the Nile to explore the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and the Colossi of Memnon.

If Karnak Temple was not visited on Eclipse Day, it will be included today.

DAY 8 — WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 4

Edfu, Kom Ombo, and Aswan

Continue your voyage back toward Aswan, with opportunities for additional exploration in Edfu and Kom Ombo.

Relax aboard the ship and enjoy dinner and entertainment as you sail.

DAY 9 — THURSDAY, AUGUST 5

Aswan or Optional Abu Simbel Excursion

Spend the day relaxing in Aswan or join the optional excursion to Abu Simbel.

The monumental twin temples of Ramses II and Queen Nefertari were carved directly into the mountainside. When construction of the Aswan High Dam threatened the site, the temples were carefully cut into thousands of pieces and moved to higher ground.

The private-vehicle Abu Simbel excursion is currently priced at $350 per person and is highly recommended for travelers who want to experience one of the world’s most extraordinary archaeological sites.

DAY 10 — FRIDAY, AUGUST 6

Return to Cairo and Explore Old Cairo

Disembark after breakfast and fly back to Cairo.

Explore Old Cairo, including the Hanging Church and Ben Ezra Synagogue, before visiting the colorful Khan El Khalili bazaar.

DAY 11 — SATURDAY, AUGUST 7

Depart Cairo

After breakfast, transfer to Cairo International Airport for your return flight home—taking with you unforgettable memories, renewed creative inspiration, valuable publishing insights, and the rare experience of witnessing a Total Solar Eclipse over Egypt.

Life Aboard The M/S Mojito

Your seven-night Nile voyage is planned aboard the five-star deluxe M/S Mojito or a similar vessel.

The M/S Mojito offers 69 exterior guest cabins and a range of spaces for dining, relaxation, entertainment, writing, and enjoying the scenery of the Nile.
